Junior R&D Engineer - Laundry

e The Junior R&D Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, innovation and other related R&D activities of the laundry systems or components. They maintain communication with the North American and Chinese domestic R&D teams and must have strong mechanical system/subsystem design knowledge, innovative thinking, and proficiency in design software such as UG, Creo, SolidWorks, or CAD.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Responsible for North American washing machine & dryer Research and Development projects including mechanical component and structural design and feature development.
• Collaborate on maintaining technical product plan roadmap and establish plans of action and milestone tracking of projects.
• Complete design and development of new product appearance parts and functional parts as required.
• Develop technology for intellectual property development for laundry products.
• Responsible for structural design and improvement of related parts.
• Research mechanical technology and organize technical research on key core technologies focusing on structural design and mechanical transmission.
• Participate in research on related innovation projects and methods.
• Work closely with North American and Chinese domestic R&D teams.
• Participate actively in technical project reviews and innovation.
• Develop cross-functional cooperation with internal and external engineering teams to jointly carry out project work.
• Advise team on energy and performance characteristics to drive best product energy and performance.
• Participate in industry technical committees related to safety standards, 

performance, and energy such as AHAM or UL standards.

• Conduct root cause analysis and develop design improvement projects based on field returns.
• Implement projects and special tasks as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Proficiency in UG, Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other similar design software
• Hands on ability to prototype
• Familiarity with injection molding and metal fabrication
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Self-starter and self-disciplined in accomplishing tasks
• Strong desire to learn and ability to be self-taught

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1-3 rotations as mechanical engineer R&D co-op in Home Appliances or product design
• 1-2 years experience as a design engineer

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Experience with UG, Creo, Solidworks, AutoCAD or other similar software
• 1-3 rotations as mechanical engineer R&D co-op with Home Appliances preferred
• 1-2 years experience working as a design engineer
