Landscape Technician
About the Position
Lane County is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Landscape Technician to help care for and maintain the outdoor and indoor environments across our public facilities. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for the community.
In this position, you’ll perform a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled landscaping and groundskeeping work—from maintaining lawns, trees, and plantings to supporting irrigation systems and seasonal upkeep. You’ll play a key role in ensuring County properties are well-maintained year-round, including mowing, pruning, planting, irrigation repair, and responding to weather-related needs such as leaf removal and snow or ice mitigation.
This role also contributes to the overall safety and appearance of public spaces by keeping sidewalks, parking areas, and common grounds clean, accessible, and hazard-free. You’ll use a variety of tools and equipment—from power washers and mowers to hand tools and chainsaws—and help maintain inventory and supplies needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Beyond maintenance, you’ll have opportunities to support landscape planning and improvement efforts, including selecting plant materials, preparing soil, and helping enhance the beauty and sustainability of County grounds.
If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in your work, and want to contribute to spaces that serve the public every day, this is a great opportunity to make a visible impact in your community.
