Electrochemical Recovery and Processing of Critical Materials for Space Mining (MS position)

The research will focus on developing electrochemical methods to recover, separate, and process critical materials from ores, recycled batteries, electronic waste, and lunar regolith, with emphasis on sustainable extraction and materials valorization.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Strong interest in electrochemistry, critical materials recovery, and sustainable materials processing
  • Experience with electrochemical techniques, materials processing, or separation methods
  • Familiarity with characterization techniques such as SEM, EDS, XRD, ICP-OES, or related methods
  • Ability to conduct laboratory experiments, analyze data, and work in an interdisciplinary research environment
  • AI/ML is a plus
