Associate Welding Engineer

The Associate Welding Engineer is responsible for the operational Welding Engineering of CB&I’s products and services. This position is a District or Projects operations role providing Welding Engineering and NDE solutions to CB&I markets, products, clients, and customers. The role directly reports to the Director of Welding Technology, Engineering or Operations Management and routinely interacts with all CB&I functions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Welding Engineer Graduate Development Program.

  • Learn to accurately produce welding and NDE deliverables per applicable design code, company standards and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Learn to ensure designs and details are safe for field erection and use, with constructability in mind.
  • Learn to compare designs and details to as-sold estimate and customer documents and advise project team of discrepancies.
  • Learn to coordinate with other roles and functions on project team.
  • Effectively use document management system.
  • Effectively use project team or department collaboration and productivity apps and tools.
     

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant undergrad or post-graduate work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Welding Engineering from an accredited school or University
  • Participation in related professional organizations such as AWS, ASME & API is preferred.
  • Developing verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Structure

 

 *Plainfield, IL is base office, there is a work site rotation requirement - 2 years*
