Design Assistant
Job Summary
Design Assistant will work closely with Interior Designer and other team members to successfully
complete projects consisting of Interior Design and in some cases Graphic Design and Amenity
Designs.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Resource Manager with the Design Library by assisting in filing material daily and
managing the vendors as they add new material.
• Meet with manufacturer’s representatives to learn details of new material and circulate to the
Design staff (if they were not included in the meeting) for review before filing away.
• Make design selections for projects as directed by Designers. Provide new resources when
possible.
• Collect design imagery to communicate design concepts to present for project design team
meetings. Presentation to other design team members required. Must be capable of
communicating design concepts and how elements, materials relate to the concept/story.
• Provide technical AutoCAD or Revit construction documentation with Interior Designer
direction and review.
• Required to present questions in a time efficient manner to Interior Designers related to work
being produced under their management.
• Clarify priorities with Senior Staff when work load dictates the need for prioritization.
• Revit BIM for project furniture, custom millwork and feature architectural elements.
• Create conceptual presentations in InDesign or Photoshop.
• May create renderings or manual presentation graphics to communicate design concepts.
• Fabrication of material boards if project requires it.
• Maintain accurate time records of all project related assignments.
• Perform indirect tasks such as but not limited to; answering the phone, answering the door,
greeting and managing meetings with vendors.
• Production of FF&A Specifications and ordering memos, collecting information related to
pricing and lead time of products.
• Take detailed notes when receiving assignments.
Qualifications
• Collaborative with positive attitude.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Flexible related to schedule and problem solving.
• Architecture or Interior Design degree, accredited 4 year program.
• Required Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop & Creative Suite, InDesign, MS
Office, Gmail, 3D Max
• Optional Experience in Illustrator, Freehand, Sketch-Up
