Ceramic M&P Research Team Laboratory Technician - Co-Op

Provide laboratory experience to highly motivated student while assisting in-house research scientists studying advanced structural ceramic and ceramic composite materials for aerospace applications.

Assigned tasks may include, but are not limited to, preparation and characterization of ceramic and ceramic matrix composite (and composite constituent) samples. Preparation routes include polymer synthesis, sol-gel processing, powder processing, composite lay-up, and additive manufacturing. Characterization of samples include preparation of samples, X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy, fiber strength and/or push-in testing, preceramic polymer characterization, thermal and mechanical properties evaluation, and data nad image analysis using a variety of software.
