Heraeus Quartz North America, LLC. has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Intern to support our manufacturing operations by assisting with production planning, material availability, inventory accuracy, and supplier coordination. This role provides hands-on experience in a plant environment while helping improve material flow, on-time production, and operational efficiency. 

 

Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Support daily operations, including planning, procurement, logistics and inventory management. 
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to demand, inventory levels, and supplier performance. 
  • Help maintain and update supply chain data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Excel-based tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Logistics
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for supply chain leadership
  • Assist with tracking KPIs such as OTD and supplier lead times
  • Support documentation of standard work, processes, and procedures
  • Systematically use statistical analysis and quality tools to understand, evaluate and improve processes. 
  • Communicate, interact, and coordinate with all plant departments including Production, Maintenance, Quality, Customer Support, R&D, Sales, Human Resources and Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What is required for this role:

  • In process of completion or recently completed Bachelor or Masters degree. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and leadership ability; exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
