CAD/CAFM Intern

Froedtert Health is searching for a CAD/CAFM Intern to add to their team. Our CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) program is currently expanding and in need of additional staff. Froedtert Health offers the opportunity to work within the Enterprise Facilities Services department alongside the Architecture, Engineering and Construction fields. Candidates will develop an intimate working knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision and direction of the Facility Space Coordinator, the CAD/CAFM Intern will learn from a high-performing Enterprise Facilities Team. The team is excited to mentor an exceptional student seeking hands-on and professional skills. The role will provide the intern the opportunity to obtain knowledge of healthcare facilities and clinics by completing the following tasks: 

  • Maintain accurate as-built floor plans using AutoCAD. Sync drawings with the CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) system database. Experience with CAFM software is not required – training is included with acceptance of the position.
  • Maintain CAD layering/naming conventions and network drive directory structure.
  • Conduct on-site audits of various Southeastern Wisconsin hospitals and other medical facilities. Field-verify departmental and functional uses of rooms and spaces
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as available.

Skills:

  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge or experience.
  • Basic Revit knowledge or experience.
  • Basic Bluebeam knowledge or experience.
  • Familiarity of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Hours:

  • Part-time (up to 20 hrs/wk), flexible to fit lifestyle/needs, full-time during summer months.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate would be someone looking for experience within a corporate setting, exposure to the built environment of healthcare facilities, or management of large-scale multi-campus facilities.
