Test Engineer - Harvest Systems
Sage Ag Inc. is currently seeking hardworking, self-motivated, & detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about production agriculture & machinery. Through this position, you will be working with a major agricultural machinery manufacturer in an experimental field test environment. Position requires moderate travel (approximately 50-75%) travel within the United States during the season (May-December). In this position you will be performing field testing on combines/front end equipment and will help to play a key role in enabling further product development by supporting the test activities of proprietary equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Field Testing and product development of combines
• Work collaboratively with other Engineers and Technicians
• Perform full system tests on combines, setting and optimizing equipment
• Performance testing of automated systems and modules
• Design and fabrication of test parts
• Collect and analyze data to draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Present findings in meetings and act as project liaison communicating to global partners
• Follow standardized procedures as well as create and document new test procedures
• Interact professionally with customers and record feedback
• Provide professional opinions and advice to engineering on how new features are meeting customer demands
• Hands on repairs when working with the equipment when needed
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Ag Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Field Testing experience
• Prior experience operating large farm machinery
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Experience working with complex mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to work and adapt in dynamic, fast paced environment
• Must have positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Professional presentation and demeanor
• Ability to work individually and as a team with engineers and technicians
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to keep accurate & detailed records of work performed
• Willingness to Travel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in operating, repairing and optimizing combines
• Experience in data collection and analysis
• Familiarity with Creo/ 3D modeling
Details:
Job Duration: Full Time
Location: Silvis, Illinois
Compensation: $70,000- $75,000 (DOE), plus bonuses based on experience, paid travel expenses
