 Your Impact as a Contracts Drafter Intern

Join Aon’s Reinsurance team, where you’ll play a vital role in preparing, reviewing, and finalizing documentation that outlines the terms and conditions of treaty reinsurance arrangements. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to deepen your understanding of industry terminology, regulatory trends, and global market practices while supporting brokers and clients in a fast-paced environment. Our team is increasingly leveraging technology solutions (PowerShell, Microsoft Copilot, internal AI applications, etc.) to advance our research capabilities and accelerate our processes.

This is a 10-week paid program across various U.S. offices with access to leaders through weekly learning sessions and a chance to interact with colleagues globally. You will engage in challenging client projects with the benefit of continuous formal and informal feedback and the enjoyment of social outings and community service activities throughout your internship! 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Qualifications and Requirements

• Insurance/reinsurance knowledge (or coursework in contracts writing, risk management, etc.) is a plus
• Strong written communication skills with advanced proficiency in English
• Strategic and analytical thinking with basic math aptitude and problem-solving ability
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; adaptable to proprietary systems and platforms

Qualifications 

• Rising seniors graduating between December 2026 - June 2027 with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit reinsurance contracts, supporting documentation, and related correspondence
• Review expiring and new contract documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Coordinate with broker teams to clarify reinsurance terms and contractual obligations
• Collaborate with brokers, clients, and markets to resolve coverage questions
• Research regulatory guidelines, judicial rulings, and industry trends impacting reinsurance contracts
• Contribute to the upkeep of a clause library and documentation standards
• Ensure processing and quality standards are met across assigned accounts
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Assist with our internal technology/application initiatives (prompt engineering, light coding work, data validation, etc.).

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $21.00 - $24.50 hourly. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

Aon offers a benefits package for temporary and seasonal employees who will work 20 or more hours per week including: medical, dental, and vision insurance at the employee’s expense, critical illness insurance, 10 Company holidays per calendar year (paid, if eligible), paid sick leave as provided under state and local law, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions. Eligibility for benefits are governed by the applicable plan documents and policies.
