ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dive into building and documenting cutting-edge Tapehead models. Unleash your creativity and technical skills on new designs.
- Collaborate with our top-notch engineering team for Failure Analysis (FA) on defects - be part of solving complex puzzles!
- Develop and manage a sophisticated database for collecting and communicating FA data your work will be crucial for our decision-making process.
- Become an integral part of a team that values communication, innovation, and teamwork.
- Engage in a learning experience that spans various facets of engineering, chemistry, and physics in the context of data storage technology.

Qualifications
Required:
- Current BS or MS Student in a Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering program graduating in May 2027
- A tech enthusiast with a burning passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Excellent communicator, ready to collaborate with a diverse team.
- Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world projects in a meaningful way.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in MATLAB, SAS, SQL, Excel, and or other data analysis tools
- Located within driving distance of our Great Oaks (San Jose) office.
- Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case to employ you (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case).
