Peer Career Coach – Undergraduate Student Employee (2026–2027)

Office of Career Management – Fisher College of Business

Peer Career Coaches are trained undergraduate student employees who support fellow Fisher students in their career development through drop-in hours, scheduled appointments, and mock interviews. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to build coaching, presentation, and leadership skills while helping students navigate resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn, Handshake, interview preparation, and job search strategies.

**NEW for 2026-27: Peer Career Coaches will also staff designated drop-in hours in other campus locations (e.g., Schoenbaum and Mason Hall) to increase accessibility and visibility of career services. Coaches will rotate time between locations based on a set schedule.

This is a 10-hour per week, nine-month position beginning the week of August 25, 2026, and ending April 26, 2027.  Training will begin during Spring Semester 2026, starting after spring break and concluding by mid-April.

Key Responsibilities

Student Coaching & Support 

  • Provide resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn critiques during drop-in hours and scheduled appointments located in Gerlach Hall, as well as a dedicated “pop-up” space in Schoenbaum Hall
  • Conduct QUIC mock interviews and help students prepare for career fairs and employer interactions.
  • Offer guidance on Handshake, Big Interview, and other career platforms.
  • Support students in navigating ethical job search practices and interview policies.

Outreach & Education

  • Present career-related workshops to business classes and student organizations.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Office of Career Management (OCM) across campus.
  • Serve 1-2 hours per week at the “Pop Up” career services location in Schoenbaum Hall
  • Post career tips, events, and opportunities on OCM’s LinkedIn showcase page.

Projects & Leadership

  • Contribute to updating career handouts, resume guides, and online resources.
  • Propose and lead special projects aligned with office needs and personal interests.
  • Assist with career fairs, events, and OCM operations.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute new ideas to student insights, connection, and support

Qualifications

  • 3rd or 4th year Fisher College of Business student (graduating between May 2027 - May 2028).
  • Previous internship experience in business.
  • Minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA and QUIC Certified prior to applying.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and one-on-one coaching.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.
  • Able to commit to 10 hours/week for both semesters (August 2026–April 2027).
  • Completion of Business Administration 2601 or similar experience is helpful but not required.

Training

Spring training begins after spring break and concludes by mid-April 2026, based on availability. Training includes:

  • Resume and cover letter critique techniques
  • LinkedIn and Handshake profile reviews
  • Interview preparation and QUIC procedures
  • OCM policies, resources, and technology platforms
  • Ongoing bi-weekly meetings and development sessions
