Landscape Architect Intern – Summer Internship

 

Position Overview:

Lochmueller Group is seeking a motivated Landscape Architect Intern to join our team for the upcoming summer in our St. Louis, MO office location. This internship provides hands‑on experience in landscape architecture, planning, and design projects, offering exposure to both technical and creative aspects of the profession. Interns will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain valuable insight into real‑world project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing site plans, renderings, and design concepts for public and private projects
  • Support project teams with research, data collection, and analysis related to land use, environmental impact, and community needs
  • Contribute to the development of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Participate in field visits to gather site information and verify design conditions
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and other design professionals to ensure integrated project solutions
  • Provide support in preparing presentations and proposals for clients and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Strong design, visualization, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, or GIS (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
