Position Summary:
The purpose is to provide meaningful professional experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Abbott hires students majoring in Engineering, Food Science and Human Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, and Life and Physical Sciences based on business need.
The Student Will Be Responsible For:
- Participate in various aspects of the root cause analysis (RCA) process, including prototyping, data analysis, literature reviews, and technical writing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support root cause analysis initiatives
- Leading a project in collaboration with assignment manager
- Apply technical and analytical skills to solve complex problems creatively
- Communicating findings and progress to assignment manager on a regular basis
- Delivering tangible outcomes and reporting findings to business leaders

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as a student at OSU and pursuing an undergraduate, MS, or PhD
- Degree in Engineering, Food Science, Nutritional Science, or Life and Physical Science preferred
- Strong academic performance and demonstrated leadership potential
- Attention to detail, effective communicator, and excellent verbal/written English language skills
- Self-motivated problem-solver that can lead a project from beginning to end
- Ability to commit to 4-hour blocks of time for internship during the summer
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. They will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
Start Date/Duration: Summer semester with potential to continue through Fall as part time
