Data Scientist
A leading international defense and technology consultancy is seeking a Data Science & AI Data Scientist to join its advanced analytics team in Norfolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI engineering, machine learning, and distributed data systems, with the ability to design and deploy scalable data-driven solutions for global organizations. Role:
π€ Develop and implement scalable data science and AI solutions, including LLM-based applications.
βοΈ Design and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and cloud-based architectures to support AI and ML workflows.
π Preprocess, clean, and transform structured and unstructured datasets for model training and inference.
π§ Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and system architects to operationalize AI/ML systems.
βοΈ Deploy containerized microservices and distributed data systems on platforms such as AWS or Azure.
π Conduct research to enhance data accessibility, infrastructure performance, and AI integration.
π¬ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to cross-functional teams on data science and AI best practices.
π§© Support innovation and transformation initiatives within a complex, multinational environment.
Requirements:
π Bachelorβs degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, AI Engineering, or related field.
πΌ 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or Data Engineer.
π Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala with experience in TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
π Experience with API development, ETL pipelines, and real-time streaming using tools like Airflow, Kafka, or Spark.
βοΈ Proven expertise with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
π Solid understanding of data privacy, security, and governance principles in enterprise or government environments.
π Ability to translate analytical results into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
π¬ Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams.
π Eligible for or holding NATO or National Secret security clearance.
