This is a contract position with Siemens Energy Staffing, Inc. and is responsible for Materials Engineering Support for the manufacture and processing of components and materials used in turbine generator applications. Additionally, this position will require direct and hands-on support of multiple manufacturing processes as well as providing onsite technical support of raw materials, along with the development and implementation of testing protocols and evaluation methods for materials used in the Siemens Energy Manufacturing facility located in Fort Payne, Alabama.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Deliver hands-on support for manufacturing processes involving materials and components.
- Conduct material testing, evaluations, and data analysis to support quality and performance improvements.
- Review and disposition materials in stock and assess material substitutions for compliance and suitability.
- Communicate engineering requirements and insights to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Interface with customers on material performance and technical inquiries.
- Collaborate with the back-office development team to support ongoing engineering initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Engineering or a closely related discipline with a strong focus on materials.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred; candidates with more experience may be considered for advanced roles.
- Demonstrated interest in materials applications for power generation equipment, particularly rotating electric machinery (generators or motors).
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Flexibility to work overtime or off-shift hours to support critical projects in both office and factory settings.
