Plant Health Aide

 Pesticide and Plant Pest Management Division Salary: 

Starting at $22.95 per hour 

Apply Before: August 8, 2025 

Start Date: Approximately September 15, 2025

Location: Statewide and includes travel, including overnight.

This position is located in Michigan

This position serves as support to MDARD’s plant and pest detection programs: 

  • Setting and checking box tree moth traps. 
  • Field work collecting and processing insect samples.
  • Maximum of 719 hours per year and 129 hours per month.
  • Workdays are M-F and the hours per week/day vary by project and time of year.
  • The position lasts from May-December. 
  • For travel, mileage, hotels and meals will be reimbursed.

Preferred Education and Experience:

 High School Education Some biology/insect experience either in a classroom environment or at another job is preferred.
